trustee Education & The
OMNI buttonwood series roundtables
ONLY AN EDUCATED TRUSTEE IS A RESPONSIBLE FIDUCIARY! (c) 2019
In 1792, an Agreement was signed by 24 stockbrokers gathered under a Buttonwood tree outside of what is now 68 Wall St in New York City .
This Agreement – known as the "Buttonwood Agreement" – created the New York Stock Exchange.
The 2008 credit crisis created devastating economic chaos and OMNI, by that time, had been holding Trustee education Workshops nationally for 10 years, so the "OMNI Buttonwood Series" of Roundtables was launched with a New York Stock Exchange member firm to bring trustees, academicians and investment professionals together to discuss rapid and extreme losses.
OMNI Buttonwood Roundtables are platforms designed so Public and Taft-Hartley Funds, Foundations, Endowments and Corporate investors can explore and discuss wide-ranging issues such as Actuarial reporting, new investment products, market volatility (market stagnation), funded status, managing fee and commission costs, ESG/Impact Investing, outperforming Women and Minority business firms and much more. Investors learn about solutions to the challenges everyone faces – regardless of size or investor type. Our limited attendee, 'roll up your sleeves', highly participatory workshops are held in an Executive MBA briefing style, specifically to promote interactive discussions.
Our Speakers and Sponsor partners include the NYSE, NASDAQ, OIC, the Center for Retirement Research, Moody's, S&P, universities and many others.
Participants forge new professional relationships, gain a better understanding of investment products and learn about new investment trends in relaxed and informal settings.
